Spherical Plain Bearing Cross Reference: SKF, FAG, IKO, NTN to EVER POWER

Cross-reference guide for GE, GEG, maintenance-free and rod-end spherical bearing families across SKF, FAG/ELGES, IKO, NTN and EVER POWER.

Spherical plain bearing cross-reference families

A spherical plain bearing cross-reference is most useful when an old machine, imported assembly or supplier drawing starts with a familiar brand designation. The goal is not to declare two parts automatically interchangeable; it is to translate naming so the replacement can be checked against dimensions, suffix, liner, sealing and the joint itself.

Why cross-reference work is necessary

SKF, FAG/ELGES, IKO, NTN, ASK and other manufacturers often use related ISO-style family language, but suffixes and construction details do not always travel one-for-one. A complete marking can carry information about lubrication, seals, liner type or heavy-duty geometry that disappears when only the bore code is copied.

Maintenance-free families need special attention

Two bearings can share the same bore and outside diameter but use a different sliding material. A PTFE composite GE..C family and a PTFE fabric GE..ET 2RS family should not be treated as the same product just because both are described as maintenance-free.

Rod-end and angular references

Rod-end families add another layer because the spherical bearing is integrated into a threaded housing. Reference names such as GIF, GAR, SI or SA describe the assembly family, not only the spherical insert. Thread direction, housing geometry and load path must be verified before ordering.

How to use the EVER POWER Cross-Reference tool

1

Enter the complete marking

Type the competitor part number or family into the Cross-Reference search. Keep suffixes such as 2RS, C, ET or DO in the query.

2

Open the suggested family

Use the result to reach the corresponding EVER POWER series and review construction, bore range and available models.

3

Verify the physical joint

Compare d, D, B, C, shoulder geometry, liner/seal type and the actual service conditions before replacement approval.

Family cross-reference vs model cross-reference

A family cross-reference says that two designation systems describe similar product architecture. A model cross-reference goes further and compares an actual size and suffix. The second task requires more evidence. For example, GE..ES may be the right family translation, but the 20 mm model still needs D, B, C, articulation and load ratings checked before a replacement is released.

Why suffixes cause most mistakes

A missing 2RS can remove seals. A C or ET suffix can change the sliding pair from greaseable metal contact to a maintenance-free liner. Heavy-duty families may use different brand prefixes such as GEH instead of GEG. If a buyer enters only the bore number, the cross-reference search loses the information that most directly affects construction.

Japanese naming deserves a second look

IKO and NTN references are common in Japanese equipment and may not visually resemble the European family name even when the application is similar. Keep the original brand and full marking in the RFQ. That helps separate a true family translation from a model that only appears similar because the bore number matches.

A reliable cross-reference package includes

  • Photo of the old marking and the complete code typed in text.
  • Measured d / D / B / C values.
  • Series suffixes and seal/liner information.
  • Application and motion type.
  • Existing drawing or machine parts list when available.
  • Required documentation and quantity for the quotation.

Have a competitor part number?

Send the full marking and a joint photo or drawing. Cross-reference work is faster when the suffix and physical dimensions are available.
